Jared Kessler
Hello! I'm Jared Kessler, a passionate programmer and designer who thrives on learning quickly and tackling new challenges. I have a deep love for systems, and I’m always eager to push the limits of what’s possible, whether it’s crafting compelling stories or developing innovative gameplay mechanics. I believe every game has a distinct personality, and bringing that to life through my programming skills is something I find incredibly rewarding.

Currently, I’m a Senior at Indiana University, where I’m studying Game Design and Computer Science, continually expanding my skills and knowledge to stay ahead of the curve. I have almost 2 years of experience in the Indie Games space. When I'm not developing my own games, I'm playing games like Marvel Rivals, reading fantasy books like the Stormlight Archives or Farseer Trilogy, and of course keeping up to date with One Piece.
Background
At Indiana University, I focused on Game Development, specializing in programming, production, and design. During my Junior year, I worked with classmates for 4 months to develop a game concept and pitch it to industry professionals. This concept evolved into Slime Guy. Over the past year, my team of 10 and I have been deeply immersed in development. I personally programmed a sophisticated procedural generation algorithm to create dynamic and engaging content, as well as a robust relic upgrade system that incorporates intricate mechanics for player progression. Beyond these, I contributed to optimizing performance, debugging complex systems, and integrating key gameplay features. As the producer, I managed the team by setting clear milestones, conducting regular reviews, and coordinating efficient 2-week sprint cycles. We are on track for an exciting release in April 2025.
